# Installing on ubuntu22

Hi All,

Perhaps someone can share how to successfully install channeflow on Ubuntu22?  
Installing all the default packages and using the cmake command below

cmake /home/user/Tools/channelflow/source -DCMAKE\_BUILD\_TYPE=release -DCMAKE\_CXX\_COMPILER=mpic++ -DCMAKE\_INSTALL\_PREFIX=$HOME/Tools/channelflow/release

the compilation completed successfully, but when trying to run I get the error:

Abort(939074819) on node 0 (rank 0 in comm 0): Fatal error in internal\_Bcast: Invalid datatype, error stack:  
internal\_Bcast(107): MPI\_Bcast(buffer=0x7ffc0e736d00, count=1, INVALID DATATYPE, 0, comm=0x84000000) failed  
internal\_Bcast(67).: Invalid datatype

Any comments will be appreciated,

Solved it, and documenting here in case someone is experiencing the same problem:

For some reason the default mpi in ubuntu22 is mpich. Switching to openmpi before compilation solves the problem.
